Review: Leopard's Hunt by Christine Feehan

When it comes to alphamale shifters and the women who mate them, Ms. Feehan is always a go to author for me. In the latest book in this series, we are treated to Gorya's story. His background has been covered in previous books at a high level. Now we dive in deep. It is a doozy. For those new to Ms. Feehan, hold on because it gets dark.

This dark trend continues in this series and I am not foreseeing anything lightening up. This is a world of cruelty and sadism visited upon children and women. The aftermath of this could go one of two ways: continuing the cycle or breaking it. For Ms. Feehan, all her antiheroes break the cycle and we do receive a happily ever after. The journey to this happily ever after is loaded with pain, sorrow, anguish, and disappointment. Yet this book is not a downer. Why? Because it is balanced with determination, hope, and a better tomorrow based on the choices the main characters make.

I guess what I like about these stories is how Gorya could have very well played into the victim role and roll over. Instead, he played a long game. He made choices and he was very good at what he did. Finding a woman who can match his ruthlessness seemed impossible for him. Mostly because the women he's ever been around have always been victims and beaten down. Maya is on a whole other level and it shows. I loved her. I love her interactions with Gorya. The two of these together are another power couple who rise above their beginnings. I love it.

This intense paranormal romance is recommended to readers who root for the underdog to win.
