Review: Dragon Kiss by Donna Grant

Fight or flight? In this novella, readers return to Zora featuring Lotti and Alasdair and several of the other dragon kings. This good length novella explores Lotti's powers a bit more, now that she knows she is not human, but rather a Star Person. The previous big reveal about how the Star People know about dragons is mind blowing and is lightly touched upon. This tale is all about fighting.

I don't think I realized that there is more than one powerful foe in this current multi-book story arc. About 2/3 of the way through this book, I finally realized there are two distinct entities that can meet or exceed the powers of the Dragon Lords. What happens when an apex predator is no longer at the top? Do they fight or do they flee?

This action packed survival and retrieval tale keeps me flipping the pages to see how it would all end up. There are a couple of surprise struggles for Lotti and her friends. I like being caught off guard. The ending comes all too quickly for me. The last gathering with Lotti and her friends confirms her Star status and closes with a hook into the next book. I cannot wait to read the book to see what happens next. And lastly... where in the world is Merrill?

This 1001 Dark Nights Novella is recommended for current Dragon Lord fans and new fans alike.

* I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
